The Best for Bed and Breakfast

Comfortable Cozy Guesthouse

"Great location in Stornoway. 1 block from major supermarket, close enough to walk to town, across the street from the beautiful Lews Park & Gardens. Linda greeted us at the door and we were shown around for breakfast & where to find her if we needed anything then quickly in our rooms. Cozy, warm, quiet with all necessary amenities. Breakfast covered just about anything you could want."

Very nice

"We stayed four nights with Linda and her guesthouse. We got a clean, nice room with a fairly large and modern bathroom. Also nice that we were able to make a cup of coffee or tea in the room. A very good, freshly made breakfast of your choice, served with a smile. Would definitely stay here again if we ever return"

Cosy B&B with friendly hosts in central place

"I stayed at the Hebridean Guest House for one night and am very happy with the stay. My room was a single person room with ensuite facilities and everything was spotless clean and lovingly arranged. I received a very friendly welcome and help whenever needed. The tasty homecooked breakfast had everything you could wish for. Everything you might want to see in Stornoway is within walking distance"

A Lovely En-Suite Room in a Scenic Location

"I stayed here for two nights. I was warmly welcomed and had a lovely room with ensuite (with great shower), couch, tv and refreshments. The breakfast was wonderful, a lot of choice and even included home grown tomatoes. Would thoroughly recommend. Also a great location, scenic and close to the shops and restaurants"

Excellent Breakfast freshly cooked

"I really enjoyed my stay at the Hebridean Guesthouse. My single room was very comfortable and the bonus was having a walk in power shower instead of having to leg it over a bath as in a lot of hotels. The Guesthouse was spotless and nicely decorated. I particularly liked the large dining table where you could share with other guests at breakfast. It was nice to meet and have interesting conversations with a German couple and an American. Linda and her husband made you feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was first class, good quality ingredients including the famous Stornoway Black pudding. The location is within walking disrance of the town for a night out and just along the road from the Guesthouse is a Spar shop at the Garage for late night snacks. I would definitely return"

A Great Place to Stay

"My son and I stayed here for two nights whilst cycling the Hebridean Way. The rooms are great. Modern furniture and decoration, excellently equipped and spotlessly clean. The owner is extremely friendly and very guest orientated. Nothing is too much trouble. I stay in a lot of hotels for business, and this is better than so many of them. Clean, well equipped, friendly staff, good value and perfectly placed (5 minutes away from town). What more could you ask for? If I came to this beautiful part of the world again I would go for the Hebridean Guesthouse before all else."

Wonderful Stay

"Linda and Kevin were extremely accommodating with me, they were very welcoming! The breakfast was lovely and I really appreciated them allowing me to stay longer when the ferry was cancelled! I will definitely be staying here again when I visit the Isle of Lewis again :) Thank you for a very homely and wonderful stay."

Comfortable, Clean, and Relaxing

"A great welcome from Linda and Kevin Johnson. Excellent breakfast and a comfortable clean and relaxing guest house, our room was lovely. A lovely base to holiday in the Outer Hebrides and to see the sights. The shops and restaurants are a walk away. Perfect"

Comfortable and friendly

"Stayed here for 5 nights in a twin room with my mum. The room itself was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, as was the attached shower room. Nice touches included local biscuits and soap, a well-stocked tea and coffee tray and super comfortable beds. The room wasn't particularly spacious, but it was fine for us, and it was at the rear of the property so there was no road noise. Parking is right outside the front door, and it's easy to get onto the main roads out of Stornoway, and a short walk into the town centre for dinner. Breakfast is excellent - most mornings we couldn't manage the full breakfast so took advantage of the buffet selection of cereals and yogurts, along with toast - other guests were enjoying all the options available and it looked and smelled great. The Wi-Fi is great. The hosts are really friendly and helpful, particularly in advising us of places to visit."

Ideal Location and Friendly

"Stayed here two nights on business. Room very clean and bed comfy. Good wi-fi. Very friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Will be staying again ideal location and a 5 minute walk into the town centre. Parking was easy in a lay by right outside the property."

Comfortable with Helpful Hosts

"I stayed for a day before a boat trip, then another three days. They do single rooms, which kept the price down. The room was en-suite, very clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were delicious and catered for special diet needs. The hosts were very helpful, and let me leave my bike, some bags, and some food while I was on the boat trip and pick them up on my return. Not far from the centre of Stornoway or the ferry or the castle, and plenty of places to eat nearby."

A Great Place to Stay

"So, I’ll start by saying I’m not a fan of B&Bs. I have been to a couple, and they are just not my cup of tea for a number of reasons. So, you will be thinking why the five stars? Well, the place is very handy for town, it’s very clean and the room I had was comfortable. Breakfast was great and fresh. Very welcoming. Great place if you are visiting the island."

Hebridean Welcome

"This guest house is well placed for pedestrian access to town centre, Stornoway Castle & Museum, and various leisure facilities. The B&B service is well run by Kevin and Linda Johnson who also, as I can aver from my four-night stay last weekend, take real interest in the needs of their guests. Rooms are comfortable, and Kevin's breakfasts deserve special mention."
